Hayley's “Sammy's CatVentures” Birthday Giving Project for Children in Need:
Hello, my name is Hayley L. Howell and I am an author of two children's books. For my 27th birthday this year (June 23), I wanted to do something special for children, specifically children in hospitals, homeless, and abused centers.
The first book is called Sammy Catches the Gloomy Loomies, about spreading joy and Laughter worldwide. The second book is called Sammy's Two Left: Groovin' with Mr. Smooth, about discovering how to believe in yourself. www.SammysCatVentures.com (for more info and pictures)
My goal is to collect 27 sets of my books each month that people buy anddonate ($15 each set) in their name.
I have been setting up places to read the books to children in need. I'm intalks with the Rescue Mission Youth Program, Child Haven, and now AshleyHouse. My plan is to set up 2-3 of these places a month and give a book toeach child or family in need as well as teach them a message about the books.
People who donate can put their name in the books (Ie: Donated by MJ) or write a message inside for the kids. Those who donate online or from afar, I will put their name/message inside the books for them.People who participate will have their name put on my website and I will have a blog written about each event I attend.
I have overreached my goal for last month, July, and have about 33 sets of bookscollected so far! I will continue to collect another 27 sets and so on for each month.
My Ultimate goal by next June 2012, is to have collected 324 sets of books to give to children in need (approximately 650 children total) or more once I've passed that goal. I'm looking for people who are interested in taking part as well as ideasas how I can get this project out to more people. I'm telling everyone Iknow about it and also looking into asking organizations such as Kiwanisand the mayor about the project.
People can donate directly on my website's homepage: www.SammysCatVentures.com under the PayPal Donation link. I can also be contacted in person at SammysCatVentures@comcast.net or by phone 253-797-3670.I live in the Federal Way, Washington area.
